Abstract:<br/>The widely-held view that Corporate Governance affects firm performance has made this concept a popular discussion topic and an issue for all corporate bodies. Governance structure is one of the main aspects that create differences among organizations.<br/>Empirical research and further studies relating to governance practices in MFIs are needed to determine how improved governance practices may enhance sustainability and outreach of MFIs, especially in emerging economies.<br/>The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of board structure on the financial performance and outreach of microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Egypt, using a set of data from the13 most active MF service providers, during the period from 2005 to 2014. |
