520 3# - Abstract
Abstract Abstract:
The field of Cloud Computing has always been progressive. The aim of this study is to
explore the importance of cloud services for startups at their establishment stage and whether the
current cloud service providers cater to their needs. The design adopted for the study will be both
quantitative and qualitative. The participants investigated were startups’ owners and technical
managers who work with both mobile and web applications. The participants responded to a survey
related to their experience with Cloud Computing. The study at hand is expected to lead to further
research on how to provide personalized cloud services to startups.
The problem statements here is: Do startup owners have the appropriate awareness of
benefits offered by cloud services providers and what programs that they customize for them? The
study also attempted to identify the top cloud services providers with a focus on startups needs.
In the literature review, the work included a case study of cloud adoption by an Italian
technological startup firm as well as another case study from Egypt.
The research undertaken studied the level of utilization of cloud service by startup in Egypt
in building their applications. It also identifies the extent of usage of available services of those
cloud services providers.
A survey was designed and deployed to focus on the service providers who offer the highest
value to startup companies through a technical comparison. Analysis resulted from this survey
concluded that many of the surveyed companies are familiar with and are users of cloud computing
services. However, they are not necessarily aware of the programs and their benefits that cloud
providers offer for them specifically.
Key Words: cloud services, startups
